Dinglese Communist Party
The Republic’s oldest awkward squad. In the House Purple since the founding, outside government since the founding’s first few years, and convinced the revolution has been postponed rather than cancelled.

Communists were a considerable minority in the Republic’s first administration under Prime Minister Tommy McAleese, and it was their insistence on formal legitimacy that led Dingle to sign its first ever trade agreement, with Czechoslovakia, in 1987. Czech glass and silica built a good deal of the young Republic, including parts of the House Purple itself.
Today the party sits in opposition with 18 Members. It argues that liberal democracy has had its chance, that the island’s revolution will only be completed by going further, and that Dingle should look east, to Russia and China, rather than west. Every other party in the House disagrees, and says so loudly.
The party is famous for its online campaigns, which it describes as seizing the memes of production. It split down the middle on the free vote for equal marriage in 2005 and has never been asked about it since.
Members of the House Purple
JA
John Alexeivich MHP
Spokesperson for Woolyback Affairs · The Baltic Circle
John Alexeivich speaks for the Communists on relations with other countries, which in practice means arguing in almost every debate that the Republic has chosen the wrong friends. He wants Dingle to realign with Russia and China and believes the island’s future lies in what he calls Scouse Bolshevism.
He is a rousing speaker on his own benches, where his contributions usually end in a show of clenched fists, and a reliable irritant to everyone else.
D
Dimitri MHP
Backbench MHP · Port Moonlight
Known to the whole House by his first name alone, Dimitri represents Port Moonlight and is one of the youngest Members on the Communist benches. He is an enthusiastic heckler who always insists, afterwards, that it wasn’t him.
He has a long-standing working relationship with the Speaker’s yellow cards.
This directory lists Members holding party office and others in the public eye. Profiles of all 18 Communist Members are being updated following the general election of 3 May 2029.
