The Blackbirds stand up for Black Dinglese interests and for the communities of Ladgos, the Nigerian-Scouse city in the north of the island. The party is proud that Dingle may be the only country on earth where racism has been all but eradicated, and it intends to keep the vaccinations up.
Expressing the island’s many cultures sits at the heart of the movement, and the party does it out loud. When the King rises to speak, a colleague cues up the boombox, and when he finishes, the Blackbirds bring the noise. The Speaker has learned to allow for it.

KC
King Charles MHP
Leader of the Blackbirds · Taribo West
King Charles is the Blackbirds’ leader and the party’s elected ceremonial monarch, and the only king the Republic has ever tolerated. Article 1(3) says there will never be a King or Queen; the party maintains that he is not that kind of king.
A dreadlocked, ageing aficionado of Northern Soul, funk and disco, he learned his moves in the nightclubs of Wigan and has never forgotten them. He is a lyrical polyglot, fluent in English, Scouse Patois, Scouse Creole, French and Jive, and he sings when he speaks, like the lead singer of a Philly soul band. He opens with “Wag Wag”. Everyone knows what it means.

Akinwole Ikenwoke MHP
Backbench MHP · Taribo North
Before politics, Akinwole Ikenwoke was Dingle’s Strongest Man in 2009, known on the circuit as the Tank of Toxteth, and the Republic’s first ever Olympic gold medallist. He stands six feet nine inches tall and weighed 27 stone at his heaviest. His surname, from the Igbo, means “muscleman”.
He is also one of the most softly spoken Members of the House Purple, a gentle giant who chooses his words carefully and apologises when he breaks the furniture. Nobody in the chamber interrupts him, and he has never had to ask.
This directory lists Members holding party office and others in the public eye. Profiles of all 15 Blackbirds Members are being updated following the general election of 3 May 2029.
